F-4 Tape Sep 11, 2010
By hdcspike This stuff is similar to what I used in the Air Force when working on F-4 Phantoms C/D/E/G models. It seems a little thinner than what I remember, and we used to get it in a small round tin back in the day. This comes in a plastic bag. I've used it on my boat, and works just like I remember. Never use electrical tape when you can use this stuff. The orange has a little higher temp rating, but both black and orange work the same.

Works great Aug 23, 2010
By Bill R. Used this to patch up a leaking garden hose - it really works well. Be careful - it fuses very quickly so you have to be careful once you take the backing tape off not to let it get tangled.

Blown away, this stuff is awesome Dec 06, 2010
By D. Herlich I used it to fix a leaky hose on my SCUBA gear. Pretty incredible stuff. It does harden up a bit with time, but that's fine, because the bond gets stronger too. It still remains pliable.

Solved my leak problem Jul 05, 2011
By R. Stauber

I plan to use this tape to solve any PVC plumbing leaks that might occur and will also try to use it on other connects, like mentioned in other reviews.
Below is how I used the tape...
I kept getting a leak under my kitchen sink and was unable to solve this. The connections were all PVC and I did not want to permanantly seal them for fear of ruining the plumbing. Some of the PVC Pipes fit together well, but a few were inserted into one another with a twist sealer with them to keep them together. However, the twist sealer, kept releasing the pipe it was supposed to hold. Therefore, I decided to try this tape and it worked! I had to cut pieces around 2 ft in length due to the awkward angles I needed to wrap the pipes. The tape did not stick to the pipes but did stick to itself, Just what I wanted! Once I got the tape started, I pulled it tight and it adhered to itself as advertised. I then covered each pipe connection with tape and once I was done, there was no longer a leak. Even with a dishwasher attached and making vibrations, the seals held.
I dont know how the tape will work on metal pipes but on PVC it is great.

No longer a skeptic ... this stuff works well. Jan 17, 2012
By Surrealone I was a bit skeptical when I read about this, but ordered it anyway as I needed something to keep the elements out of electrical connections I was making ... ones that precluded the use of heat shrink tubing. I'm no longer a skeptic and will probably keep some of this around in the shop from now on. Good stuff at a good price.
