1Fragile Plastic Houseing  May 31, 2009
By Jon Ramos "BostonArchitect"
My Topeak Hexus multi-tool broke in my hand under what I would consider to be a reasonable amount of stress. When it broke the plastic housing snapped and the sharp plastic edges cut my hand. I don not recommend this tool because the plastic is not strong enough. I recommend one with a metal housing. Take a look at the customer image that I uploaded.

5Just the Best Take Along Bicycle Toolset  Sep 12, 2007
By Greg Pschaida "maxnodifference"
Brilliant. All the Major Hex wrenches, Tire Levers, and a chain tool, all in one lightweight compact package. Oh, that little third hand to hold the chain together during pin installation is especially handy. I have one of these on nearly every bicycle I own.

5great multitool  Jul 03, 2008
By spkarim "skarim"
A great multitool that is compact and light. I keep it in a bag under my seat with a patch kit.

The tool has been indispensable for the chain tool, the allen wrenches, and especially the tire levers.

If you can get it on sale, it is well worth it and will likely bail you out of trouble sometime in the future

4A bit heavy, but has it all.  Jun 26, 2008
By CD
Not sure why but recently my chain broke while on the road. Before that happened I never cared about carrying a chain tool. After that, I don't leave home without one. This tool has everything you need to do on the road repairs and adjustments, including the chain tool. It is very well thought out, sturdy, and easy to use. OK, it is a bit heavy, but that is the trade off you'll need to make if you want to be able to fix most of the problems you may encounter on the road. Topeak makes the lighter version without the chain tool so if weight is an issue, that is a good choice too.

5Compact, loaded, and ready to fix everything  Nov 19, 2009
By A. Paterson
I have been using this tool (although I think it was named something different when it first came out) for over 8 years. With it, I have done countless trail/road side repairs for myself, friends, and even other cyclist I met with mechanical problems. I even fully assembled a new bike for my neighbor using just this tool when I had loaned my toolbox to my brother. Very simply, this tool has everything you will need for just about any repair on the bike, including a fantastic chain tool and built in tire levers. At this price, it is a crazy deal, IMO the best value around.

I do have a specific comment regarding the user who wrote a review stating he broke the plastic under what he considers a "reasonable" load and posted his gory picture. The tool casing is not plastic, it is metal. The only plastic part on this tool is the removable tire lever. You sheered the metal, at a reinforced area of the tool. The is no way that happened under "reasonable" force - you would have to be inappropriately using the tool as a pry-bar or trying to break a siezed bolt with too short a lever to accomplish something like that. It is irresponsible and unfair to rate the product poorly because of your own misuse. Amazon should remove that photo.
